Hi, I'm  Tom Maugham, welcome to my site!!!
Photography has been a big part of my life for almost fifty years. Although my maternal grandfather was an ardent photographer, I never seriously picked up a camera until I was in the US Army stationed in Europe. I soon learned to see the beauty of the world in which I live through the lens of my Nikon F and I developed a strong desire to share that vision. During the intervening years I have strived to polish my craft by studying the work of photographers including Ansel Adams, George Lepp, Galen Rowell, John Shaw, and painters such as Claude Monet and Georgia O’Keefe.
Although I am attracted to anything photographic, my preference is to capture the beauty provided by Mother Nature. I eagerly combine two passions, photography and just being in the great outdoors. I used my Nikon film camera for many years and have shot many, many rolls of color slide film. Since my profession was in computers, I quickly embraced the world of digital processing and became an early user of Adobe Photoshop. I acquired one of the first Hewlett-Packard Photosmart color printers and then a film scanner and never looked back.  In early 2007 I converted to a Canon digital camera and I am now totally digital. I do all my own processing so I have full creative and technical control over everything I do.
